A Valuable Source of Skaggs Research is Back

The Skaggs email list at Rootsweb is probably the single most valuable source of Skaggs genealogy information in existence.  It is a history of email conversations between some of the great Skaggs researchers of all time going back to 1997.  I thought we had lost it when Rootsweb was hacked a couple of years ago, but it's back.
The Skaggs list is no longer active for email postings, however, it is a valuable resource for Skaggs genealogists, especially those interested in the Long Hunters.  There are also valuable conversations between seasoned genealogists about Old Peter and Ruth Skaggs Bishop being captured by the Indians.  The Skaggs list has hundreds of valuable posts by all-time great Skaggs genealogists such as Ida Lancaster, Wanda Sparkman, Ginny Keen, Toni Norman, Janet Ariciu and Wilene Smith.  Have a look here.  You can use the calendar links on the left of the page to navigate back to 1997.  Unlike much of the junk on the internet, this isn't Fake Genealogy.  Decades of work went into this archive and it shows up in a flurry of email activity about 15-20 years ago.  Enjoy!
