The Skaggs Y-DNA project has tested multiple descendants of Old Peter Skaggs and his brother Solomon. All these descendants had the same Y-DNA haplogroup, R-BY99605. So it appears an ancestor of Old Peter and his brother Solomon had this R-BY99605 haplogroup.
So the R-BY99605 haplogroup includes all the descendants of Old Peter Skaggs and his brother Solomon, including the descendants of Peter Skaggs Jr in the haplogroup R-BY114642. We will call the most recent common ancestor (MRCA) of these test participants UCA5 (Unknown Common Ancestor 5) since we don't know exactly who he was. But he was likely Old Peter's father. The genealogy for R-BY99605 (based on the participating testers) is below:
