As I mentioned in a previous post, Thomas Bailey Christian is known to several Skaggs family researchers. He is referred to as the husband of Lydia Harmon, the daughter of Mathias Harmon and Lydia Skaggs, in the Moses Skaggs Estate Papers.
Moses Skaggs died in the early 1800s in Green County, Kentucky. He was one of the brothers of the Longhunter Henry Skaggs and a lawsuit was filed many years after his death to recover damages from individuals involved in the disposition of assets after the subsequent death of his widow Elizabeth, and who were alleged to have appropriated assets of the estate for their own use. Moses and Elizabeth had no children, so the estate papers go to great lengths to identify and document heirs to Moses' estate. Lydia Skaggs Harmon was identified as a sister of Moses Skaggs and her son-in-law was listed in the estate papers as Thomas Christian.
Peter Skaggs is a common ancestor for many Skaggs, Scaggs and Skeggs families throughout the United States. This site exists as a single point of contact to encourage researchers to work together to uncover his place in their family histories.

Do you wonder why the Estate Bill of Moses Skaggs states that all of his brothers except for John died before his death c 1805?

Yes, I have wondered why that happened. I think time and space dulled the witnesses' memories about when the various Longhunter brothers died.
